HYROX Frequently Asked Questions

HYROX focuses on fundamental strength training and endurance conditioning without the technical complexity of Olympic weightlifting or advanced gymnastics movements. CrossFit includes these more technical skills and movements. Both programs build excellent overall fitness, but HYROX uses more accessible movements that allow you to train at high intensity from day one.

Absolutely. Hybrid is designed to be accessible for people at any fitness level, including those brand new to training. The movements are straightforward and our coaches excel at scaling workouts to match your current abilities. You’ll train in small classes where you receive individual attention and modifications that work for you. You won’t feel lost or overwhelmed—you’ll feel challenged and supported from your first session.

Yes, Hybrid is excellent for athletes from rugby, AFL, soccer, netball, and other sports. The focus on fundamental strength movements and high-intensity conditioning builds the power and work capacity that improves athletic performance. We work with local sports clubs and offer dedicated pre-season training blocks. The programming complements your sport-specific training without adding unnecessary technical complexity.

Not at all. While we offer specialised HYROX competition preparation for those interested in racing, the majority of our Hybrid members train for general fitness, sport performance, or simply because they enjoy the style of training. The programming is effective whether you ever step into a competition or not. If you do become interested in racing, we have the expertise and programming to support that goal.

Most members train 3-5 times per week for optimal results. Our programming is designed to be sustainable at this frequency, balancing intensity with adequate recovery. If you’re new to training, starting with 2-3 sessions per week and building up is perfectly fine. Your coach can help you determine the right training frequency based on your goals and schedule.

Yes, your membership includes access to both programs, and many members attend classes from both. Some people prefer the variety, while others use Hybrid as a complement to their CrossFit training. Your coaches can help you balance the two programs if you choose to explore both styles of training.
